The forum will provide an opportunity to share perspectives and explore possible venues for cooperation with the GEF. Mayors and local leaders will engage in discussion on various issues of common interest, including barriers and opportunities to address urbanization and global environmental concerns such as climate change and natural resource management, and the role of innovative partnerships.
The Special Forum with the GEF CEO will be held in conjunction with the World Mayors Summit on Climate Change, which is aimed at enabling leaders of cities and other sub-national governments to demonstrate commitment and leadership on local climate action. Dr. Ishii will also be providing a keynote address at the Summit.
