The International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN, has announced the appointment of Dr. Grethel Aguilar as Director General, starting today.
Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, GEF CEO and Chairperson, said:
I could not be happier with the IUCN Council decision to appoint my long-time friend and collaborator Grethel Aguilar as the new Director General of IUCN. Grethel is a renowned conservationist whose passion and expertise is exactly what our beloved Union needs to address the threat of ecological collapse, build a nature-positive world, and increase our capacities to adapt to climate change.
