From 16 to 18 July 2013, the GEF Southern Africa Constituency is holding its third Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW).

The ECW is taking place in Livingstone, Zambia and approximately 75 participants from 10 countries are in attendence.  Countries represented include: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The ECWs bring together GEF focal points, focal points from the main Conventions (Biodiversity, Desertification, Climate Change and POPs), representatives from civil society and representatives from the GEF Secretariat and the GEF Agencies.

This year’s ECWs have a renewed agenda, with hands-on practical exercises on national capacity development (NCSA), results-based management, monitoring and evaluation, and synergies in project design presented by Convention Secretariats (CBD, UNFCCC, UNCCD). The agenda will further focus on discussions regarding the GEF 6 Strategies, the new GEF Fee Policy, and the Project Cycle harmonization.
