By the end of the project, São Tomé and Principe has an improved capacity to conserve forest landscape

Project Objective: To improve conservation, ecological integrity and effective governance of the Angola Maiombe Forest ecosystems, whilst fostering resilient livelihoods and multi-level stakeholder engagement for sustainable development

Support integrated management of the Luki/Mayombe, Mai-Ndombé and South Ubangi tropical forest Landscapes to facilitate conservation of natural resources, local development, food security and climate change mitigation and adaptation in DRC, with an innovative approach to strengthening cross-border collaboration in land use planning , as well as transboundary management of watersheds (Ubangi River) between the Central African Republic (CAR) and the DRC in South Ubangi.

To safeguard globally significant biodiversity of high value ecosystems, from unsustainable resource use, as a result of effective government enabling capacity, community participation and resilient green livelihoods.

To strengthen biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation, through the application of economic instruments for carbon sequestration, biodiversity protection services to support sustainable forest and land management and improved livelihoods of indigenous peoples and local communities in targeted forest landscapes in Equatorial Guinea

To catalyze, through regional and global level action, the improvement of conservation and effective governance of critical landscapes in the Congo Basin Forest Biome
