Reduce the use and disposal of single use plastics packaging from the food and beverage sectors, through upstream interventions, strengthening the reuse and substitution of plastic products, improving circularity and implementing effective legal and regulatory tools as well as innovative technical/financial solutions in Senegal.
The project will contribute to reducing uPOPs and GHC emissions resulting from open burning of waste, particularly plastic waste from landfills. Additionally, it will enhance marine habitats by mitigating the impact of plastic pollution, thereby supporting biodiversity goals focused on improving the conservation, sustainable use, and restoration of natural and marine ecosystems.
