Clearing House Mechanism Enabling Activity
The project will support the participatory development of a BSAP by the MET in association with relevant government ministries, local communities and NGOs. The project will build on the existing knowledge base in the country and strengthen local and institutional capacities to elaborate the BSAP through a process of participatory planning and stakeholder consultation during national and regional workshops. The BSAP will identify the current status of, pressures on, options for, and actions to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity in the CAR.

Conserving Marine Biodiversity through Enhanced Marine Park Management and Inclusive Sustainable Island Development
The project will build upon significant investments and proposals by the Malaysian Federal and State authorities to ensure improved marine resource conservation and management in the Malaysian east coast and inclusive sustainable island development. The conservation objective will be addressed thought the improvement of the existing management of marine protected areas at three sites: Pulau Tioman, Pulau Redang, and Pulau Sibu-Tinggi. The project will target approximately 165,000 ha of coastal marine ecosystems under improved management.

1. The Global Development Objective of Biodiversity Conservation and Participatory Development Project (BCPD) is to encourage and support environmentally, economically and socially sustainable development in the rural areas of Swaziland, based on conservation and sustainable use of its rich biodiversity resources. 2. The project will develop an integrated approach in full partnership with other key stakeholders to meet the goals and objectives of the Swaziland Biodiversity Conservation Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP).
