The goal of the project is to protect ecosystem, species and genetic diversity from invasive alien species, for global, national and community benefit. The project will contribute to this goal through its purpose of removing the barriers to effective prevention and management of IAS in four pilot countries; Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia. The focus will be on invasive plants, as this group poses the greatest current threat, and because a number of invasive plant species have been identified in the four countries requiring immediate attention.

Development of an Energy Efficiency Program for the Industrial Sector for Tunisia
The proposed project is expected to have three main components: (a) establishment of a financial intermediation mechanism to support private sector energy efficiency investments (through ESCO projects among others); (b) a sustainable partial guarantee fund; and (c) technical assistance to local financial institutions, other intermediaries on the development of bankable projects and the mechanisms to secure project financing and creation of ESCOs, and for energy end-user information dissemination and development of a limited number of demonstration projects.

The project would assist the government of Belarus to conserve and sustainable manage biodiversity in the Polesei Region through PA protection, and the integration of biodiversity concerns in activities related to land-use. .The project would improve the quality of key policies for several productive sectors such as agriculture, forestry, flood defense) in parallel to the establishment of PAs at target sites of global importance. It will also assist the government in strengthening cooperation with Ukraine on the establishment of the transborder Pripyat-Sokhid-Prostyr reserve.
