Assessment of Risk Management Instruments for Financing Renewable Energy
The proposed assessment effort aims to identify options for GEF risk management interventions for RET projects, covering both insurance-based and non-insurance instruments in close collaboration with private sector stakeholders, the World Bank and UNDP. The ultimate goal of the effort is to bring about the faster and more systematic deployment of renewable energy technologies by supporting and positively influencing the development of markets for renewable energy project risk management instruments.

The project will assist the Government of Korea to ensure maintenance and enhancement of wetland biodiversity and the sustainable use of their goods and services. It will do so through the strengthening of national and local planning and management systems to reduce and eventually reverse their degradation. The objective of the proposed project is to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants. Institutionalizing Payments for Ecosystem Services
At CEO endorsement: 16 Feb 2007 The focus of the project will be to build the institutional foundations for Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) development by providing global and regional mechanisms to support national innovators through information sharing, capacity building and training and policy changes. The project has been developed with the involvement of the Katoomba Group which was created by the Forest Trends. The Group was established to explore and build on innovations in ecosystem service markets.
