National Capacity Needs Self-Assessment for Global Environmental Management in DR Congo
The main objective of this project is to assess national capacities to manage the global management in the DRC. This national self-assessment will determine the gaps, constraints and priorities for the creation, development and reinforcement of individual, institutional and systemic capacities required to better manage environmental resources to ensure that they are used sustainably to support national efforts in the areas of development and the fight against poverty.

GEF- Development Marketplace Partnership
The DM program operates at two levels: Global and Country or Regional level. At the global level, the DM team holds a worldwide competition held every 12-18 months at World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C. To date, the Global DM has disbursed over US$23 million in awards to 171 projects through five competitions. These projects are being implemented in more than 60 countries by non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, private sector businesses, government agencies and other development actors. Initial Assistance to Enable Suriname to Fulfill its Obligations Under the Stockholm Convention on POPs
The objective of the project is to identify means to support Suriname‘s own sustained capacity to fulfill its obligations in the context of the Stockholm Convention, including the preparation of a National Implementation Plan focused on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), that will more widely cover aspects important to the safe and environmentally sound management of chemicals and wastes, as called for in Chapters 19 and 20 of Agenda 21.

Enabling Activities to Facilitate Early Action on the Implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs in Sierra Leone
The overall objective of the proposed Enabling Activities is to strengthen national capacity and capability to prepare a National Implementation Plan (NIP) for the management of POPs. This plan will provide a basic and essential level of information to enable policy and strategic decisions to be made and identify priority activities that Sierra Leone should undertake in order to meet the requirements of the Stockholm Convention. It will be endorsed by all stakeholders before transmission to the Conference of Parties (COP).
POPs Management and Destruction Project
This project would be the first "NIP implementation" project funded by the GEF. The project would build on on-going baseline activities in Moldova to implement the priority interventions identified in the National Implementation Plan that was developed over the last two years under the GEF-funded enabling activities led by the WB.

The overall objective of the proposed MSP will be to assist Vietnam to plan and strategise with regards to compliance with its obligations under Art. 5 of the Stockholm Convention on POPs concerning the reduction of releases of un-intentional POPs from the industrial sector and other processes.
