RUS: Energy Efficiency in the Russian Federation (UMBRELLA PROGRAM)
Facilitate market transformation towards more energy efficient building technologies and practices through regulatory support, investment, and capacity development at the federal, regional, and local levels. In line with the GEF Climate Change strategy, this umbrella programme will cover the entire spectrum of the building sector, including the building envelope, the energy-consuming systems and appliances used in buildings for heating, cooling, lighting, including appliances, as well as building operation and energy consumption during building operation.

Latin-America: Communication and Public Awareness Capacity-Building for Compliance with the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety
The project will strengthen communication and public awareness capacity on biosafety in Latin America in general and in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and Peru in specific. The objective will be achieved through piloting communication and public awareness strategies and sharing the results widely across the region. These activities will culminate in a regional conference to take stock of biosafety management systems in the region.
Biodiversity Strategy, Action Plan and First National Report and Clearing House Mechanism
The purpose of the proposed project is to enable the Government of Sao Tome and Principe to develop a biodiversity strategy in compliance with Articles 6 and 8 of the CBD and as a means of identifying priority actions for biodiversity conservation and management. The project will provide the resources to Government to prepare its first National Report to the Conference of the Parties.
Common Data Flow System and Indicators to Enhance Integrated Management of Global Environmental Issues in Croatia
The main objective of the project is to develop a comprehensive data flow system (DFS) and indicator model for the purpose of sustainable collection and management of common UNCCD, UNFCCC and UNCBD data at the national level, and to implement this model through a small-scale GIS supported pilot project. The DFS model will be developed in accordance with Environment Information System (EIS) structures and requirements.
National Biodiversity Strategy Action Plan, First and Third National Reports to the COP and CHM

The proposed MSP project would: develop baseline data on biodiversity and demographic and socioeconomic trends in the Vilcabamba Cordillera area; initiate participatory planning with local stakeholders, govt, oil firms and NGOs to improve local living conditions and start ecological zoning; design and establish permanent protected areas emphasizing an indigenous reserve within the reserved zone; develop a master plan for the area and prepare an investment agenda; initiate productive activities and human service provision (health & education).
Initial Assistance to enable the Cook Islands to fulfill its obligations under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS). (NIP for Cook Islands)
The overall objective of the project is to create sustainable capacity within the Cook Islands to enable it to meet its obligations under the Stockholm Convention, including initial preparation of a POPs National Implementation Plan (NIP), and other broader issues of chemicals safety and management as articulated in Chapter 19 of Agenda 21. The National Implementation Plan will outline the action plans that the Cook Islands will be implementing to help it meet its obligations under the Convention to phase-out POPs sources and remediate POPs contaminated sites in the Cook Islands.
DSSA Demonstrating and Scaling-up of Sustainable Alternatives to DDT in Vector Management (PROGRAM)
The Strategic Programme aims at the protection of human health and the environment through the reduction of emission of DDT into the global environment by means of decreasing the use of DDT through introduction, demonstration and scaling-up of sustainable alternatives to DDT in disease vector management.
