Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity in the Dalmatian Coast through Greening Coastal Development
The proposal would aim to make development greener across a key area of the coastal zone by creating an enabling environment and change the behavior of economic actors within the landscape so that key mosaic of habitats and species are secured and their needs incorporated into economic development of the region. It will do so through mainstreaming biodiversity principles into government ministries and planning and through working directly through industry, particularly tourism, agriculture, fisheries and the banking sector.

Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation into Production Systems in the Juniper Forest Ecosystem
The overall goal is to improve the condition of the Juniper forest ecosystem, in order to conserve biodiversity and increase the ecosystem’s contribution to sustainable development. This will include: •Improving the health of the ecosystem’s components, notably: othe hydrological cycle; othe quality of soil; othe diversity of plants. •Sustaining the extent and improving the health of the Juniper trees; •Increasing the population of globally important plant, animal and bird species.
Development of National Biodiversity CHM - Add On
Objective1: To promote further development of the national CHM through improvement of biodiversity information exchange under the priority thematic programs and cross-cutting issues; Objective 2: To identify priority thematic databases (information systems), to be compiled by integration of the already existing thematic datasets on the basis of common standards and formats, and to establish their linkage to the Web in order to facilitate fast public access to the information.
Updating of NBSAP, Preparation of 2nd National Reports, and Establishment of a National Clearing House Mechanism (CHM)
To support the implementation of the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity by enabling DPR Korea to update the information in the NBSAP in the areas of assessment of capacity building needs and national priorities, to develop a workable National CHM and undertake a Second National Report to the COP.
Action Plan Skills Building for 15 Least Developed Countries to assist with National Implementation Plan of Development under the Stockholm Convention
The objective of the project is to provide, over a period of 20 months, national-level training, technical and financial support to 15 LDCs that have signed and/or are Parties to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. The proposal builds on the on-going MSP designed to provide support for up to 25 LDCs (PMIS 2328). The proposal is a response to country requests that could not be met through that first MSP. It is co-financed with matching funds from the Swiss government.
