Expanded Constituency Workshop | March 11-13

The Expanded Constituency Workshop (ECW) is a component of the Global Environment Facility Country Engagement Strategy and brings together GEF focal points, focal points from the five main international environmental conventions (Biodiversity, Desertification, Climate Change, Stockholm, and Minamata), representatives from civil society, GEF agencies, and the GEF Secretariat. This year’s ECWs have a renewed agenda, with hands-on practical exercises on project design and implementation, GEF-8 policies, operations, and bilateral engagements with the GEF Secretariat and other stakeholders. The agenda will also include an interactive site visit to local GEF projects.

Participants from Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts And Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago were invited to attend.

Adaptation Workshop | March 14-15

The Regional Adaptation Workshop is a part of the GEF Secretariat’s contribution to strengthening outreach and capacity support for country planning and programming under the new climate change adaptation strategy for 2022-26 for the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and the Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF).

The main objective of the workshop is to support non-LDC Small Island Developing States in preparing robust climate change adaptation projects for the GEF-managed SCCF, with an initial country cap of $3 million during 2022-26, in coordination with other sources of climate adaptation finance. The workshops will provide participants with information and tools that will assist them in translating their adaptation priorities into projects and funding proposals.
