To transform the Russian lighting market towards more energy efficient lighting technologies, by focusing on improving efficient lighting standards and policy frameworks; strengthening the supply chain for energy efficient lighting; and piloting initiatives in residential, public buildings and street lighting.

The main objective of the project is to identify priority capacity building needs in the Russian Federation in order to address global environmental issues. Assessment will concentrate on the three thematic areas of climate change, biological diversity and land degradation, and will also explore synergies between these thematic areas and with other related national sustainable development areas.
