To accelerate market transformation for industrial energy efficiency by strengthening policy, regulatory and institutional frameworks and supporting increased diffusion of and investment in best available industrial energy efficiency practices and technologies.

Within the overall objective of the Stockholm Convention, which is to protect human health and the environment from POPs, the purpose of the project is to prepare for implementation of the Stockholm Convention in Namibia by developing the National Implementation Plan.

Specific objectives of this project are to:
1. Develop, through multi-stakeholder processes, inventories of persistent organic pollutants controlled by the Stockholm Convention;
2. Prepare action plans to address priority issues for Namibia to meet its obligations under the Convention;

Development and transfer of climate technologies in African countries to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions and vulnerability to climate change.

To enhance Cambodia’s PAS management effectiveness and secure forest carbon through improving inter-sectoral collaboration, landscape connectivity and sustainable forest management

To reduce vulnerability to soil erosion in targeted sub-watersheds.

To support rural communities and producer organizations in increasing production of selected food crops and livestock in targeted zones while increasing the use of sustainable land and water management practices in climate vulnerable ecosystems.

To support the development of national fuel economy policies in 20 countries, 6 countries through GEF-5 STAR Allocations and 14 without GEF funding, using existing tools developed with GEF-4 support (examples are the fuel economy baseline calculation methodology and online GFEI toolkit). In addition, to support coordination of the 20 country projects at the regional level to ensure that results are disseminated to other countries within the region.

To integrate principles and obligations of the three Rio Conventions into Ukraine's national policy framework and strengthen key institutional and individual capacities to pursue sustainable development that delivers global environmental benefits

: The project will build capacity to introduce and implement a PCB management system to facilitate the implementation of the Stockholm Convention on POPs , will dispose of at least 3,800 tonnes of PCBs and PCB-containing equipment in an environmentally-sound manner and will maximize opportunities for public-private partnership through development of efficient policies and regulations

To safeguard biodiversity in the Chocó biogeographic region from the direct impacts of gold, silver and platinum mining and indirect impacts of mining [population growth and development of agriculture, forestry, fisheries and other sectors]
