Brand Guidelines

These brand guidelines feature an updated logo and replace previous graphic standards. The guidelines establish a system for the consistent usage of the GEF’s visual identity: the logo, color scheme, typography, and other graphic elements that enable audiences to easily recognize and identify the GEF brand.

New logo reflects the Global Environment Facility’s wider remit

The Global Environment Facility has launched a new brand identity to reflect the expanded scope of its work to protect and restore the planet’s health.

Over the past three decades, the GEF has grown from a pilot program into the world’s largest source of multilateral funding for environmental action. Its grants, blended finance, and policy support helps developing countries tackle the root causes of biodiversity loss, climate change, and pollution.

Climate Adaptation Workshop for Francophone Least Developed Countries

The Climate Adaptation Workshop for Francophone Least Developed Countries (LDCs) took place April 24-27, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dakar, Senegal. The event brought together francophone LDC operational focal points, national adaptation experts from the LDCs, civil society organizations engaged in adaptation, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change national focal points, GEF agencies, and the GEF Scientific Technical and Advisory Panel. The event was highly inclusive, promoting gender equality and the ‘whole of society’ approach central to the adaptation strategy.

GEF-8 PIF Template and Project Design Training Session

This training on the new Project Identification Form (PIF) template for GEF-8 was organized for GEF agencies and technical staff involved in project design. The session included presentations by the GEF Secretariat and the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP), as well as demonstrations of illustrative PIFs to articulate key aspects of writing a good PIF, with a focus on the project rationale and description sections. Guidance documents and reference reports that were highlighted during the training are available below.
