Through participating in an NCSA process Vanuatu will: review and confirm national environmental priority issues for action within the thematic areas of biodiversity, climate change, desertification/land degradation and persistent organic pollutants. explore related capacity needs within and across these thematic areas. link country action in these thematic areas to the broader national environmental management and sustainable development priorities and action plans. catalyse targeted and coordinated action, and requests for future external funding and assistance.

The project would carry out a range of activities to ensure that the industry is transformed to a principal driver of marine biodiversity conservation, sustainable use, sustainable livelihoods, poverty alleviation and food security for coastal communities in Indonesia and the Philippines.

This project seeks to implement a pilot BRT system in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, that will be the first stage of 100Km trunk system that will be the first and most extensive BRT system in Africa. Secondly, the project seeks to implement the first fully developed NMT feeder system as an integral part of the planned 12Km pilot BRT system in Cartagena, Colombia.

The project development objective is to ensure conservation of globally significant biodiversity in the Andean Páramo. This will be achieved by implementing a series of initiatives necessary to create an enabling environment for the improved livelihoods of páramo stakeholders based on the conservation and sustainable use of the ecosystem’s natural resources.

The project is being implemented as an interim capacity-building activity between the Initial and the Second Communications. Hence it is intended to complement activities of the Phase 1 project, related to the Initial Communication, while at the same time forming basis for initiation of the Second National Communication to the UNFCCC.

It will be endorsed by all stakeholders before transmission to the Conference of Parties (COP).

The main objective of this add-on request is to assist the Government of Antigua & Barbuda in addressing the following priorities; -assessment of capacity building needs -consultation for the 2nd national report for the COP of the CBD -a country-driven biodiversity CHM project

Within the overall objective of the Stockholm Convention, which is to protect human health and the environment from POPs, the project will: i. Prepare the ground for implementation of the Convention in Zimbabwe; ii. Assist Zimbabwe in meeting its reporting and other obligations under the Convention; and iii. Strengthen Zimbabwe’s national capacity to manage POPs and chemicals generally.
