To ensure data-driven policy design and implementation by facilitating and mainstreaming biodiversity information into decision-making and policy development processes

The project’s objective is to reduce overall fossil fuel consumption and associated GHG emissions by removing barriers to transform the Ukrainian market towards more energy efficient lighting technologies. Actions will be taken by the project to promote a gradual phase-out of inefficient lighting products in residential and public buildings. GEF participation in pilot projects at schools will remove existing barriers in seven pilot cities/municipalities and provide for the replication of defined approaches and measures in other major cities of Ukraine.

Improve the provision of efficient and sustainable waste water services in participating coastal municipalities and reduce the nutrient load entering Croatia coastal waters (Adriatic Sea) from, and pilot innovative sastewater treatment solutions in, selected municipalities

The global environment objective (GEO) of the project is to accelerate improved groundwater resource governance at transboundary, national, and local levels.

The project development objective (PDO) is to sustain livelihoods reliant upon groundwater and related aquifer services.

To enhance adaptive capacity and reduce vulnerability to climate change through a strengthened early warning and information sharing mechanism for a better informed decision making by government and affected population.

To expand protected area coverage of globally significant marine biodiversity and increase the management effectiveness of the national marine protected area network across the Bahamian archipelago

The main objective of this project is to implement the National Biosafety Framework in line with national priorities and obligations to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

The project overall objective aims at reducing and, where feasible, eliminating UP-POPs releases by capacity building at regional level to implement BAT/BEP measures in the fossil fuel-fired utility and industrial boilers source category including UP-POPs monitoring.
The project also aims at simultaneously increasing energy efficiency (Climate Change) and reducing UP-POPs releases (Stockholm Convention) by application of appropriately selected technologies and fuels in the fossil fuel-fired utility and industrial boilers source category.
