The objective of the proposed project is to enhance biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of renewable natural resources in Okyeman through community-based integrated natural resource management approaches.

The overall objective is to refine ways of stimulating the further improvement and spread of community-based SLM initiatives, while simultaneously developing a methodology to upscale and institutionally embed SCI-SLM approaches at local and regional level in four pilot countries in Africa.

This request is submitted in order to obtain additional funding to: -Assess national capacity-building needs for the implementation of the National Strategy; -Support networking at the national, regional and international levels of the Clearing-House Mechanism of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Chad

The main objective of the Project is the development of a National Implementation Plan (NIP) for Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), such that Mexico can meet its obligations to the Stockholm Convention.

The objectives of the project are: To build confidence and capabilities in public-private sector partnerships (PPP) as a viable means of financing and sustaining environmental facilities and services for the protection and sustainable use of the marine and coastal resources of the East Asian Seas region.

The objective of the project is to create sustainable capacity and facilitate a country-driven approach to enable the three autonomous islands making up the Union of the Comoros to meet their obligations under the Stockholm Convention, including initial preparation of a POPs Implementation Plan, and addressing broader chemicals safety and management issues as articulated in Chapter 19 of Agenda 21.

The objectives of NAPAs are: •To serve as simplified and direct channels of communication for information relating to the urgent and immediate needs for adaptation in Djibouti •To facilitate capacity building for the preparation of initial national communications, and addressing urgent and immediate adaptation needs.

The project is being implemented as an interim capacity-building activity between the Initial and the Second Communications. Hence it is intended to complement activities of the Phase 1 project, related to the Initial Communication, while at the same time forming basis for initiation of the Second National Communication to the UNFCCC.
