Contribute to the health of the trinational coastal and marine ecosystems of the Gulf of Fonseca (GoF), and foster the sustainable use of its marine and coastal resources and the integrated management of its ecosystems through the support of a trinational framework for cooperation.

The project’s Global Environmental Objective is to support implementation of the Cartagena Protocol (CP) on biosafety by improving institutional capacity of agriculture and environmental ministries as well as specific, biosafety-related agencies in the four participating countries, to implement their national biosafety regulations incompliance with the CP.

To assist the government of Paraguay in its efforts to reduce the deforestation rate and associated biodiversity loss within the productive landscape of the Paraguayan Atlantic Forest through development of connectivity within a conservation corridor, improving the protected area system, and strengthening of the policy framework and enforcement mechanisms.

The primary objective of the project is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by the electricity consumption of household appliances in South Africa by facilitating a comprehensive transformation of the home appliance market through the introduction of a combination of two regulatory tools – Minimum Energy Performance Standards and Information Labels (S&L) – and a series of associated awareness-building and monitoring activities.

Project objective is to conserve Peru’s key ecosystems and biodiversity of global significance by expanding and consolidating the protected areas network.

This project is aimed at reducing the growth rate of GHG emissions from fossil fuel use in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) through the widespread and cost effective use of their renewable energy (RE) resources. It consists of various types of activities whose outputs will contribute to the removal of the major barriers to the widespread utilization of RE technologies (RETs).

The proposed project is an essential component of the early implementation of the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Seas of East Asia (SDS-SEA).

To contribute to improved management of the Orange-Senqu River Transboundary Basin through the implementation of a sustainable programme of policy, legal and institutional reforms and investment options, using the TDA/SAP process.

The project goal is, "Nicaraguan society conserves biodiversity in-situ through a sustainable National Protected Areas System ". This is based on the goal of SINAP’s Development Strategy and responds to the nexus between Nicaragua’s large constituency of private property owners and their need for economic growth that must be balanced with the need for conservation of biodiversity. The project objective is, "The Nicaraguan Protected Areas System is effectively managed through legal reforms, strengthened institutions, sustainable financing and partnerships."

The Development Objective, or Goal, of the project would be the conservation and sustainable management of mangrove ecosystems in Brazil to conserve globally significant biodiversity and key environmental services and functions important for national development and the well being of traditional and marginalised coastal communities. The Purpose, or Immediate Objective, would be to strengthen the existing National System of Conservation Units (SNUC) in its ability to deliver effective conservation to, and sustainable resource use of, key mangrove ecosystems.
