The Biodiversity Enabling Activity for Gabon will assist the Directorate General of the Environment in the Ministry of Planning, Environment and Tourism (MPET) in developing a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). The BSAP will build on and reinforce other existing national strategies and plans, particularly the National Environmental Action Plan (NEAP), which is under formulation.

This Enabling Activity will develop a Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP) building on existing national strategies and plans. The BSAP will identify the current status of protection and sustainable use of biodiversity while also identifying pressures and options for action. National capacity strengthening and evolution of the BSAP will be the object of a process of participatory planning and stakeholder consultations.

The principal objective of this enabling activity is to assist Comoros in preparing a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. This will also enable Comoros to meet its obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity by preparing its first national report to the Conference of the Parties.

The project adopts an ecosystem approach and places emphasis on working directly with indigenous peoples and local communities and on establishing clear integration of conservation and development efforts. All of these aspects are given priority in the Convention on Biological Diversity.

The main objective of the Global Account in to ensure the long-term financing of critical regional environment activities of global relevance in the Central American Isthmus.

This Enabling Activity is to help Venezuela to formulate the strategic and actions necessary for the protection and sustainable use of its biodiversity in accordance with articles 6 and 8 of the CBD, as well as prepare a p[plan for their implementation. The primary output will be the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan .

This project is aimed at the improvement in the quality of life of human communities who depend on coastal resources while maintaining biodiversity and productivity of Patagonia's ecosystems.

The ultimate objective of the proposed project is to consolidate the effective and sustainable conservation of this globally significant mosaic of habitats and its biodiversity through the successful implementation by of land-use practices that serve both ecosystem conservation and sustainable economic resources use.

This 15 month Enabling Activity will assist the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop a National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). Through a participatory process emphasizing workshops and consultations, this project will identify priorities for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use and will elaborate strategies and actions to attain these priorities. The BSAP will build on and reinforce other national strategies and plans such as the National Development Plan and National Environment Strategy.

This Enabling Activity will formulate, through a participatory and analytical process, the strategies and actions necessary for the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity in the Marshall Islands and will prepare a formal plan for implementation of said strategies.
