The objective of this project is to prepare, through a country-driven consultative process, a comprehensive programme of action for Nepal to adapt to the likely impacts of global warming and to mainstream climate change issues in the development plans and programmes to safeguard the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The aim of the project is to contribute to a more strategic and measurable implementation of the CBD at the country level. The project is based on the evaluation of existing needs and a program to build institutional and human capacity for conservation and sustainable use of Liberia's biodiversity (Biodiversity Clearing House Mechanism, 2010 Target, implementation of the CBD Strategic Plan)

Parties to the Convention on Biodiversity have committed to a more effective and coherent implementation of the three objectives of the CBD and to achieve by the year 2010 a significant reduction of the current rate of biodiversity loss at the global, regional and national level. This project will address the need to engage broad group of stakeholders at the national level in the process of assessing and reporting on progress towards the achievement of the 2010 biodiversity targets.

The overall development goal of the project is to assist Albania in establishing a mechanism by which strategies to moderate and cope with the consequences of climate change are enhanced, developed, and implemented.

The goal of the project is to improve climate change resilience of forest ecosystems in Armenia. The project’s specific objective is to enhance national capacities to adapt to anticipated climate change impacts in the affected south-eastern forests of Armenia.

The overall project goal is to secure globally significant Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) in Lebanon that form a resource-base for local livelihood and national development. The project objective is to integrate conservation objectives into the gathering, processing and marketing of globally significant MAPs. For that purpose, the project will create incentives for local communities to sustainably manage the wild stocks by ensuring the increased financial returns flow to the guardians of wild MAP stocks and are directly linked to sustainable harvest and management practices.

The project goal is to strengthen the sustainability and management effectiveness of Botswana’s system of protected areas. The project objective is to catalyze working partnerships between public , private, NGO, and communitystakehodlers to improve the financial and operational sustainability of protected areas. The project objective is expected to be achieved through: 1) Strengthening enabling environment 2) Effective PA comanagement systems demonstrated at site level 3) Increased institutional cpaacity to effectively fulfill PA management functions

The long term goal of the proposed GEF-Pacific Alliance for Sustainability (GEF-PAS) is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of GEF support to pacific Island Countries, thereby enhancing achievement of both global environmental and national sustainable development goals.

Project Goal: Sustainable Land Management improved by increased levels of successful soil and water conservation interventions in mountain regions of Rwanda, this contributing to improved ecosystem health and rural economies. Project Objective: Capacity developed for sustainable land management in central and local government, government agencies (RADA), and farmers; and sustainable land management principles mainstreamed into national policies,, plans and processes.
